Welcome to the June 1-14, 2022 Candelaria Design Tour Spain

Spain is an amazing country with very unique regions and subcultures which we will explore on our tour. We will begin our tour in central Spain and Spain’s capital, Madrid, with a potential day trip to Segovia, Spain. Next we will venture to Andalusia and the magical city of Córdoba and explore the Moorish culture, cuisine and architecture. Then we finish our journey in the magical city of San Sebastián and the Basque region of Spain.

Even if you have been to Spain before you are going to experience Spain in a whole new way as we combine of course architecture, add cooking, culinary dining experiences and a day of spa and wellness. Our goal is to Inspire Living in a way we hope you will infuse into your everyday experience and routine.

Our trip begins as we will fly out from Phoenix and arrive in Madrid, where a transport will pick us up and take us to our hotel, the Westin Palace Hotel.

Day 2 We will arrive in Madrid early evening, check in, relax, maybe grab a glass of wine and a light lunch at the Rotunda Room and adjust to the time change. That evening we will take you on a lovely stroll through the heart of Madrid and will finish our first evening in Spain at the oldest restaurant in the world – Restaurante Botin.

Day 3 you can sleep in and adjust to the time and enjoy the luxury of the Palace Hotel. That afternoon you are free to explore the Prado Museum and many other sites in Madrid that we will gladly organize for you.  That evening we will again walk through central Madrid and to the Mercado San Miguel for some shopping and dining hopping from vendor to vendor.

Day 4, we start the day with a morning walk through the heart of Madrid to the Royal Palace and morning coffee and churros. That afternoon following our siesta we will embark on our Devour Guided Food Tour of Madrid. This is always an amazing culinary adventure, that evening we are free for our own private dining adventures in this amazing city.

Day 5, we will relax and rejuvenate and have a free day to explore Madrid. Take advantage of private walking tours of the city and museums or join Mark in one of his adventures through the city. That evening we will have a farewell to Madrid rooftop cocktail party at the Hotel Reina Victoria just a few blocks from our hotel.

Day 6 we will check out of the Palace Hotel in Madrid and take a transfer to the airport for our flight to Seville where we will then take a transport to the city of Córdoba and the heart of Andalusia. The transfer will take us to our hotel where we will check into the Hotel Balcón de Córdoba.  We will check in, relax, grab a cocktail and Mark will take the travelers on a nice evening stroll for a welcome dinner.

Day 7 we begin the day with a morning walk through the historic part of Córdoba where we will tour the cathedral and the Moorish Mosque followed by an afternoon siesta. That evening we will enjoy a fabulous dinner and authentic flamenco dancing.

Day 8 we can sleep in and enjoy the morning. In the afternoon we will partake in a very unique experience, an Arabic Hammam or Moorish Spa/Bath. This was an extremely popular experience on last year’s tour and so we encourage you to enjoy this and really pamper yourself. There will be time for a siesta after and then everyone is free that evening to go explore on their own and have a nice night out.

Day 9 we will have a leisurely day and then take a guided culinary tour by Devour Food Tours at 7pm where we will try some of the best bites in the city.

Day 10 we will check out of our Córdoba Hotel and take a transport to the airport in Seville where we will fly to our final destination, San Sebastián and the Basque Country. A transport will meet us and we take us to our final destination, the Londres Hotel along the Playa de la Concha of San Sebastián. After checking in, we will meet in the lobby for cocktails and then we will walk to the old part of San Sebastián for an evening of tapas and Sidra finishing with wine and smoked cheesecake in the street.

Day 11 We have a free morning to relax, enjoy some beach time, shop, hike, rent a sailboat charter, there is plenty to do. Or if anyone is interested, we can take a train to Bilbao and see the Guggenheim Museum. That evening we will go on a dining culinary experience like you have never seen as we enjoy the 3-star Michelin Restaurant Akelare.

Day 12 we will enjoy the incredible MIMO San Sebastián School of Cooking for a gourmet cooking experience followed by lunch where we will enjoy our culinary creations. Then that evening we will enjoy a free evening of tapas and exploration.

Day 13  We will start the day with a morning walk of San Sebastián as Mark will guide you through the city, the cathedral, the market, and the old town. At noon we will do another delicious Devour San Sebastián Food Tour and enjoy the evening as we choose.

Day 14 we check out of our hotel and take the transport to the airport where we say adios to Spain and head home.

Our tour costs are $9,000.00 for Single Traveler, and $17,000.00 Double Package which includes your flights from Phoenix to Madrid and your return flight from San Sebastián (upgrades are available at an extra cost), 14 nights in Spain and the hotels noted, transportation to and from the hotels, selected lunch and dinner reservations, Devour Food Tours, San Sebastián cooking class, pre-and post-trip dinners. An initial deposit of 50% is required by March 1, 2022 to hold your experience.
